125th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee

The Government of India is celebrating the 125th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee from 6th July 2025 to 6th July 2027, honouring his lasting impact on India's political, educational, and cultural fabric.

The two year-long tribute began with an inaugural event in Siri Fort Auditorium, Delhi. The event showcased a vibrant cultural program featuring patriotic instrumental performances and an exhibition themed on the life, legacy, and contributions of  Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee.

A commemorative stamp and coin was unveiled in the gracious presence of Hon'ble Union Minister of Culture and Tourism Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, and Hon'ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology Dr. Jitendra Singh. The ceremony was attended by senior government officials, institutional heads, and other notable dignitaries, adding to the significance of the occasion.

Organised by the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with academic and civil society bodies, the commemoration aims to inspire the nation with Dr. Mookerjee’s legacy of nationalism, education, and civilizational pride.
