On 9th September 2024, India launched an 18-month-long celebration to honour the 300th birth anniversary of Ahilya Bai Holkar, the visionary queen of the Holkar dynasty known for her just rule, philanthropy, and temple restoration efforts.
The inaugural ceremony in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, featured the release of a commemorative stamp and coin, and the opening of an exhibition dedicated to the life and legacy of Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar.
Key highlights include special publications, cultural events, seminars, heritage walks, and classical performances across India- celebrating her legacy in nation-building, women’s leadership, and architectural revival.
