The Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT), an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, organised a three-day National Workshop on 'Cultural Inputs in Curriculum Teaching' from 24-26 June 2026 as part of the year-long observance of the 350th Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. The workshop brought together 97 District Resource Persons (DRPs) from 20 States across the country.
The workshop aimed to facilitate the systematic integration of Indian cultural values, heritage and knowledge traditions into school education, enabling students to develop a deeper understanding of the country's rich cultural legacy while strengthening the spirit of national consciousness.
The programme commenced with an orientation session during which participants were briefed on the objectives, structure and implementation of the workshop through lectures and presentations. Shri Rajeev Kumar, Director (Culture & Media), Ministry of Culture; Dr. Vinod Narayan Indurkar, Chairman, CCRT; Shri Pappunjay Kumar, Director, CCRT; and Dr. Rahul Kumar, Deputy Director (Evaluation and Fellowship), CCRT, addressed the participants and outlined the key features of the initiative.
The inaugural session also paid tribute to the life and legacy of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. Speakers highlighted his unparalleled martyrdom in defence of religious freedom, justice and human dignity, and emphasised the enduring relevance of his teachings in nurturing moral values, national character and social harmony among younger generations.
The workshop is aligned with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasises the integration of India's knowledge systems and cultural heritage into education. As key resource persons, the participating DRPs will help disseminate these values among teachers and students across their respective districts. Through such initiatives, CCRT continues to strengthen cultural education and promote awareness of India's rich artistic, cultural and civilisational heritage across the country.
