Chief Secretary, Delhi and Ambassador of France to India Visit International Buddhist Relics Exhibition in New Delhi

Chief Secretary of Delhi, Shri Rajeev Verma, and Ambassador of the Republic of France to India, H.E. Mr Thierry Mathou, visited the international exhibition of Buddhist relics titled “The Light and the Lotus: Relics of the Awakened One” at Raipithora Culture Complex, Lado Sarai, New Delhi, on 31 January 2026.

During the visit, Shri Verma described the exhibition as a spiritually enriching experience and remarked that it reflects India’s rich cultural and civilisational heritage.

H.E. Mr Thierry Mathou expressed happiness that the sacred Buddhist relics are on display in India and stated that the exhibition highlights India’s soft power through spirituality and cultural outreach.

The exhibition “The Light and the Lotus: Relics of the Awakened One” was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, on 3 January 2026 and is open to the general public.
