The Women and Child Care Mission, Manipur, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, organised a five-day programme from 2nd to 6th November to mark the 300th Birth Anniversary of Rani Ahilyabai Holkar at Sangeet Kala Sangam Hall, Imphal.
The event was graced by Shri M. Basanta Singh, Cultural Activist and Secretary of Sangeet Kala Sangam, as Chief Guest; Shri L.C. Somorendro, Secretary of UNICAM, as Guest of Honour; and Shri Dhanabir Laishram, Social Scientist.
During the inaugural session, Soibam Nando Singh welcomed the dignitaries and highlighted Rani Ahilyabai Holkar’s vision, leadership, and enduring values, encouraging participants to reflect on her exemplary contributions to governance and society.
The commemoration featured a seminar, cultural performances, educational sessions on women’s empowerment, and competitions including patriotic singing and drawing, all dedicated to celebrating the life and legacy of Rani Ahilyabai Holkar.
The programme concluded with a tribute to her legacy of good governance and social justice. Winners of the competitions were felicitated, followed by a formal vote of thanks.
