As part of the ongoing exposition of Lord Buddha’s Sacred Relics in Kalmykia, the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Russian cultural institutions to enhance collaboration in the fields of museum exchange, cultural preservation, and Buddhist studies.
The MoU, formalised during a special ceremony attended by Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya, Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, senior officials from both nations, and monastic leaders, reaffirms India’s commitment to strengthening cultural diplomacy through Buddhism.
The exposition at the Golden Abode of Shakyamuni Buddha Monastery also coincides with the 3rd International Buddhist Forum, fostering dialogue on peace, sustainability, and spiritual exchange. The initiative exemplifies how India’s Ministry of Culture is bridging ancient wisdom with modern international engagement, reinforcing India’s image as the cradle of Buddhism and custodian of shared global heritage.
