On the occasion of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, a grand cultural programme was organised by Aastha Khadi Sansthan in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India on 10th November 2025 at Barhalganj, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.
The event was graced by Hon’ble Minister of State for Rural Development, Shri Kamlesh Paswan, who attended as the Chief Guest. The Special Guests included Former Minister and MLA, Chillupar, Barhalganj, Shri Rajesh Tripathi; MLA, Bansgaon, Gorakhpur, Dr. Vimlesh Paswan; and Block Pramukh, Barhalganj, Shri Ram Aashish Rai. The programme was chaired by District Panchayat Member and State Executive Member, UP Shri Maya Shankar Shukla.
As part of the celebration, various cultural and literary events were organised, including an essay and painting competition on the life of Birsa Munda, tribal and folk dance performances, traditional folk songs, lectures, and prize distribution ceremonies.
The event was coordinated and managed by Shri Deepak Tripathi. The celebration paid a heartfelt tribute to Bhagwan Birsa Munda’s legacy, his contribution to India’s tribal heritage, and his enduring message of courage, reform, and unity among communities.
