Ministry of Culture and Dulari Sewa Sansthan Commemorate Birth Centenary of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee

A three-day commemorative programme marking the birth centenary of Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee was organised from 25 to 27 December 2025 at Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh. The programme was organised by Dulari Sewa Sansthan in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

The programme commenced with the offering of floral tributes to former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee by the invited guests. The inaugural day featured a seminar on the life and contributions of Shri Vajpayee, during which speakers reflected on key phases of his public life, from his role during the freedom movement to his tenure as Prime Minister of India. Cultural presentations, including Saraswati Vandana and other performances by students of Nirankari Intermediate College and local cultural groups, were also organised. The inaugural programme was held at Hotel Leela Galaxy, Kushinagar.

The second day of the commemoration included further deliberations on the life and legacy of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. A poets’ meet was organised as part of the programme, during which poems highlighting Shri Vajpayee’s literary sensibility and poetic contributions were recited, followed by cultural performances.

On the concluding day, a district-level essay competition on the theme “Atal Bihari Vajpayee: Thought, Personality, and Contribution to Nation Building” was organised at Nirankari Intermediate College, Kasia. Around 200 students from various schools, including St. Xavier's High School, Buddha Intermediate College, Navals Academy Sapha and Kisan Intermediate College Sakhopar, participated in the competition. Prizes, mementos, certificates and tracksuits were awarded to the winners and selected participants.

The commemorative programme witnessed wide participation from students and members of the general public and served to recall and honour the enduring contributions of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee to the nation.
