Ministry of Culture and INDIA-AIDS NGO Commemorate 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel through two-day school programme

A two-day programme commemorating the 150th Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was held on 10- 11 November 2025 at N. K. Bagrodia Public School, Dwarka, New Delhi. The programme formed part of the nationwide initiative to honour Sardar Patel’s role in national unity and administrative integration. It was organised by INDIA-AIDS (NGO) with support from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

The inaugural session commenced with the lighting of the lamp, followed by cultural presentations and a welcome address by the General Secretary of INDIA-AIDS, Ms. Archana. The programme included Ganesh Vandana, a Qawwali highlighting the theme of unity, and the release of the book “Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel – The Architect of India,” authored by Dr. H. K. Sethi. A documentary on Sardar Patel’s life and leadership was screened for students and teachers.

As part of the commemoration, students from ten government and public schools in Delhi participated in poster making, unity banner displays, fancy-dress presentations, stage plays, and essay-writing competitions based on national unity and constitutional values. These activities introduced students to Sardar Patel’s role in integrating the princely states and laying the foundations of a cohesive democratic nation.

The valedictory session featured the distribution of certificates and awards to participating students and teachers. The programme was attended by several dignitaries, including Deputy Director (Education), Shri Ganesh Prasad (DDE South West-B, GNCTD) as Chief Guest; Former Deputy Director (Education), Ms. Savita Drall; Director, N. K. Bagrodia Group of Schools, Dr. (Mrs.) Rajee N. Kumar; CMO (NFSG), Directorate of AYUSH, Dr. Hema Kolhe; Director, JSS West Delhi (MSDE), Ms. Kulvinder Kaur; DCO, DDE South West-B, Shri Naveen Katyal; along with Principals and Vice-Principals of the participating schools.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by General Secretary Ms. Archana and Principal Ms. Anjali Khorbanda, formally closing the Ministry of Culture-supported programme centred on national unity and constitutional values.
