Ministry of Culture and Jai Gurudev Bal Vidya Mandir Organise Three-Day Birth Centenary Commemoration of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee

A three-day programme commemorating the birth centenary of Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee was organised from 20-22 December 2025 by Jai Gurudev Bal Vidya Mandir, Tikuliadad, Belghat, Gorakhpur, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture. The observance focused on highlighting Shri Vajpayee’s life, values and contributions through academic deliberations, cultural presentations and student-oriented activities, with wide participation from the general public.

The programme commenced on 20 December with the offering of floral tributes to Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee by the guests. A national-level seminar was organised to reflect on his life, vision and contribution to the nation, with participation from academicians, educationists, teachers and students.

On the second day, a cultural programme was held highlighting the literary and cultural legacy of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The programme opened with a Sanskrit invocation, followed by poetic recitations dedicated to Shri Vajpayee, reflecting his literary sensibility, national outlook and commitment to cultural values.

The concluding day featured art and essay competitions on the life and vision of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee at R.P.S. Central Academy, Belghat, aimed at encouraging creative expression among students. Students participated actively, and prizes and certificates were awarded to winners and participants.

The three-day commemoration concluded with key observations and recommendations by Jai Gurudev Bal Vidya Mandir, emphasising the importance of regular programmes on national leaders, promotion of Sanskrit and cultural activities, encouragement of student participation in creative and literary pursuits, integration of value-based education with academics, strengthened collaboration with cultural and government institutions, and systematic documentation of such initiatives.
