A two-day commemorative programme marking the 125th birth anniversary of Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee was organised from 3 to 4 February 2026 in Hyderabad, Telangana, by the Janahitha Cultural Development Society in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. The programme was held at Sri Sathya Sai Function Hall, Kanajiguda, and witnessed participation from over 250 attendees, including college students, local residents, and local farmers.
The commemoration featured lectures and panel discussions highlighting the multifaceted contributions of Dr Mookerjee as an academician, parliamentarian, scholar, and political leader. The sessions explored his role in shaping India’s political, social, and educational landscape, with particular emphasis on his vision of national unity and governance.
The programme served as a platform to enhance public awareness about Dr Mookerjee’s legacy and his advocacy for a unified national framework. It also reflected the Ministry of Culture’s ongoing efforts to promote awareness of national icons and engage youth and communities in understanding India’s historical and intellectual heritage.
