A three-day programme commemorating the 125th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee was organised by the Karunamay Youth Club, Bidar, Karnataka, from 16-18 November with support from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. The schedule featured a range of cultural activities including competitions, lectures, poetry presentations and folk performances.
The event opened at the Karnataka Sahitya Cultural Hall with painting and rangoli competitions attended by community members, students and art experts. The day also included a lecture session and a Kavi Sammelan, bringing together academic and cultural representatives to discuss Dr. Mookerjee’s life and share poetry recitations. The programme concluded with a folk cultural festival showcasing performances by more than fourteen folk artist groups.
