Krishak Development Society, Sant Kabir Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, organised a two-day cultural and educational programme on 8-9 February 2026 at Ankit Marriage Hall, Parasray Balrampur Road, District Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, to commemorate the 300th Birth Anniversary of Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar. The programme aimed to create awareness about the life, values, and contributions of one of India’s most respected women rulers, remembered for her commitment to good governance, social welfare, and cultural preservation.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, social workers, and members of the local community. Through a series of educational and cultural activities, participants were introduced to Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar’s ideals of justice, discipline, leadership, women’s empowerment, and public service.
A key highlight of the programme was an essay competition in which around 100 students from different schools participated. The competition encouraged students to reflect on Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar’s administrative excellence, social reforms, and contribution to the preservation of India’s cultural heritage.
The two-day event also featured cultural performances, an exhibition, an interactive storytelling session, and a prize distribution ceremony. Students presented cultural programmes showcasing Indian traditions, patriotic values, and moral teachings. An exhibition focusing on Indian art, culture, and history, with special emphasis on the life and legacy of Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar, was organised for participants and visitors.
The programme was attended by several dignitaries and resource persons. During their addresses, the speakers highlighted Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar’s contributions to justice, women’s empowerment, public welfare, and the preservation of India’s rich cultural heritage.
Certificates and mementos were distributed to participating students and distinguished guests. The programme served as a platform to promote cultural awareness, educational engagement, and the enduring values of service, integrity, and nation-building inspired by the life and legacy of Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar.
