A series of commemorative programmes marking the birth centenary of Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee were organised across Odisha by Lok Bikash in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. The initiative aimed to promote the values of democratic ethics, inclusive leadership, and environmental responsibility among youth through activities conducted in both urban and rural areas.
As part of the programme, a two-day workshop was held in Bhubaneswar with participation from around 200 delegates. The workshop focused on the Former Prime Minister Shri Vajpayee’s parliamentary contributions and literary legacy, providing an interactive platform for youth engagement through discussions and dialogue. In addition, a plantation drive was conducted across six schools in villages of Jagdishpur Block in Mayurbhanj district, resulting in the plantation of over 2,400 fruit-bearing saplings. The activity emphasised environmental sustainability and community participation.
The commemorative event combined intellectual engagement with community-based action, encouraging youth participation and awareness.
