A two-day commemorative event marking the birth centenary of Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee was organised from 25 to 26 December in Lucknow by Manav Pragati Sewa Sansthan, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
The programme, titled Atal Persona, Atal Vision (Atal Vyaktitva, Atal Vichar), focused on the life, ideology, leadership, and nation-building contributions of Former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The initiative aimed to introduce school and college students to his inspiring life, values, and thoughts, encouraging them to draw inspiration from his legacy.
The programme commenced on 25 December with floral tributes to the former Prime Minister in the presence of invited guests at Diploma Engineers Sangh Bhawan, Lucknow, and IIMRT College, Gomti Nagar. While Lucknow served as the central venue, various competitions and interactive sessions were also conducted in other cities. Activities such as speeches, writing assignments, and creative formats were designed to enhance students’ confidence, awareness, and creative abilities.
On 25 December, a school-level competition was organised at Diploma Engineers Sangh Bhawan, Lucknow, with participation from around 200 students of SSJD School. Winners of the competitions were awarded prizes on 26 December.
The concluding day featured a seminar, prize distribution ceremony, and cultural interaction programme at IIMRT College, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow. Winners from competitions conducted in Lucknow, Allahabad University, and Delhi University were awarded prizes and certificates. The commemorative event witnessed wide participation from students, volunteers, and members of the general public.
