A commemorative event under the aegis of ongoing commemoration of the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee was organized on 18-19 January 2026 at the Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Sanskrit Educational and Cultural Society, Mulki, Bidar, Karnataka, with support from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
The two-day programme featured keynote addresses and scholarly discussions focusing on Dr. Mookerjee’s contributions to national integration and his role in shaping India’s political thought. Academicians from Bangalore University, Tumkuru University, and other institutions highlighted his views on key national issues, including Article 370, and his vision of a unified and culturally cohesive nation. The sessions enabled meaningful engagement, particularly among students and young participants.
Cultural activities such as a Bharatanatyam performance and a Rangoli competition were also organised, complementing the academic deliberations. The programme forms part of the broader nationwide commemoration aimed at disseminating Dr. Mookerjee’s ideas, promoting awareness of national unity, and strengthening cultural consciousness among the youth.
