Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with Rabindranath Tagore Gramothan Evam Shiksha Prasar Sansthan, Lucknow, organised a three-day commemorative programme from 24 to 26 December 2025 to mark the birth centenary of Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The programme was held at Satsang Bhawan, Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh.
The programme commenced with floral tributes to former Prime Minister Shri Vajpayee, followed by the felicitation of invited dignitaries. A poets’ meet featuring noted poets was organised, with recitations centred on the life and legacy of Shri Vajpayee, drawing significant appreciation from the audience.
A range of competitions, including quiz, essay writing, debate, drawing, and poetry recitation, were organised for students at Raja Bahadur Dr Suryabaksh Singh Inter College. Participants were awarded, and dignitaries were felicitated on the occasion. A grand procession was also organised, witnessing active participation from students, faculty members, volunteers, and members of the public.
The programme featured several cultural performances, including a musical play depicting key episodes from Shri Vajpayee’s life. The three-day event witnessed wide participation from various sections of society, with around 1,800 attendees paying tribute to the former Prime Minister.
