Ministry of Culture, Government of India, in collaboration with Ranga Prathibha, organised a four-day cultural and educational programme from 25 to 28 March 2026 at the Karnataka Vidyavardhak Sangh Auditorium, Dharwad, Karnataka, to commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The programme brought together students, teachers, folk artists, educators, and community leaders to pay tribute to the life, vision, and enduring legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, whose leadership played a pivotal role in shaping a united India.
During the programme, distinguished speakers highlighted Sardar Patel’s contribution to national integration and his decisive role in the integration of princely states following Independence. The speakers reflected on his exemplary leadership, commitment to national unity, and enduring relevance in contemporary India, while emphasising the importance of familiarising younger generations with his ideals and contributions.
A series of cultural and educational activities were organised over the four days to promote awareness about Sardar Patel’s vision and values. These included folk dance performances, dramatic presentations, patriotic songs, art displays, and unity rallies. Through these initiatives, participants were encouraged to reflect on the principles of national unity, social harmony, disciplined leadership, and selfless public service that Sardar Patel championed throughout his life.
The programme served as an effective platform for disseminating Sardar Patel’s message of unity and nation-building among students, educators, and the wider community. By combining cultural expression with educational engagement, the event reinforced the ideals of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” and inspired participants to contribute towards a stronger, more united nation.
The commemorative programme formed part of the Ministry of Culture’s ongoing nationwide initiatives to mark the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and to promote his vision of national integration among citizens, particularly the youth.
