A two-day commemorative event marking the birth centenary of Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee was organised from 25 to 26 December 2025 in Bhopal by Sahyog Welfare Foundation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
The programme was designed to reflect on the life, ideas, and enduring legacy of the former Prime Minister, highlighting his principles of good governance, nation-building, and literary contribution, which continue to inspire future generations.
The commemorative event commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and floral tributes to Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee by the invited dignitaries. Speakers highlighted key moments from Shri Vajpayee’s life and career, providing insights into his political journey, strategic administrative decisions, and contributions to literature. The programme also featured cultural presentations, including singing, stage plays, speeches, and poetry recitations depicting various facets of his life and work.
Held at Career College, Bhopal, the event witnessed wide participation, with around 1,500 attendees, including students, youth, scholars, academicians, artists, and representatives from NGOs and community-based organisations. The commemorative event reflected strong public engagement and collective participation.
