Ministry of Culture and Samridh Foundation Commemorate Birth Centenary of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee

A four-day commemorative programme to mark the birth centenary of Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee was organised from 23 to 26 January 2026 at Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh, by Samridh Foundation, Lucknow, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. The programme aimed to reflect on the life, ideals and enduring legacy of the former Prime Minister and to familiarise the wider public with his contributions to nation-building.

The commemoration began with ceremonial lamp lighting and the offering of floral tributes by invited guests. Over four days, a series of activities were organised focusing on former Prime Minister Shri Vajpayee’s life, vision and principles, highlighting his multifaceted legacy as a statesman, administrator, national leader and poet.

The programme featured a poet’s meet, discussions on poverty eradication and national development, essay, speech and quiz competitions, nukkad natak (street theatre), folk songs and other cultural performances. The events witnessed enthusiastic participation from members of the public, reflecting wide community engagement.

The commemorative programme was held at Raghav Marriage Hall, Hardoi. It concluded with an award distribution ceremony recognising participants and winners of various competitions, along with appreciation for contributions to the successful conduct of the programme.
