Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with Shree Swaminarayan Cultural Centre, organised a three-day programme from 20 to 22 January 2026 in Bidar District, Karnataka, to commemorate the 100th birth centenary of Acharya Shri Vidyanandji Maharaj. The main events were held at Sri Swami Vivekananda Grounds in Basavakalyana, while the cultural segment was organised at Kalyana Karnataka (Aided) School, Kalyana Nagar.
The event witnessed participation from over 2,000 participants from six blocks: Aurad, Basavakalyana, Hanumabad, Bhalki, Hulsoor, and Kamalanagar, encompassing more than 76 villages across the Bidar District. The attendees included local officials, social activists, volunteers, Vidya Volunteers, youth club members, educators, and residents.
During the program, speakers honoured Acharya Shri Vidyanandji Maharaj’s extraordinary life and legacy, emphasising his contributions to the promotion of Jain philosophy, the revival of the ancient Prakrit language, and his lifelong commitment to non-violence, education, and social welfare.
Activities included the Birth Centenary Celebrations and a cultural program featuring a social drama focused on mobile phone awareness, which promoted digital responsibility and health awareness among young people.
This program was part of the Ministry of Culture's initiative to celebrate Acharya Shri Vidyanandji Maharaj's centenary and to share his messages of non-violence, spiritual service, and national integration with grassroots communities.
