Ministry of Culture and Shri Mukut Bihari Sewa Sansthan Commemorate Birth Centenary of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee

A three-day commemorative event marking the birth centenary of Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee was organised from 25 to 27 December 2025 in Mathura by Shri Mukut Bihari Sewa Sansthan in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture.

The programme aimed to raise public awareness about the former Prime Minister’s contribution to nation-building, his ideals of social harmony, democratic values, good governance, and his literary and poetic legacy. A state-level seminar, cultural programmes, and competitions centred on the life and ideals of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee formed part of the commemorative event.

The programme commenced on 25 December at Shri Govind Saraswati Inter College, Mathura, with floral tributes to Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee and the welcoming of invited guests. Speakers addressed the gathering and reflected on key milestones and guiding principles from his life. On the second day, cultural presentations were held, including a performance of the traditional Braj Ki Holi. A poets’ gathering (kavi sammelan) was also organised, during which ten poets recited poems on the themes of nationalism, peace, and democracy.

The concluding day witnessed wide participation from students in essay, speech, quiz, and drawing competitions, with approximately 300 students taking part. Participating students were awarded certificates and mementoes. The seminars, cultural presentations, and competitions contributed to raising awareness among youth and disseminating Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s ideas among the wider public.
