Sri Jai Veera Hanuman Samskruthika Kala Thanda, Muddebihal Taluk, Bijapur District, Karnataka, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, organised a three-day commemorative programme from 10 to 12 February 2026 at Chitrapinakini Group of Educational Institutions, Reddy Gollarahalli, Bijapur District, Karnataka, to mark the 150th Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The programme commenced with the administration of the National Unity Pledge and the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Pledge in the presence of dignitaries from local administration, civic bodies, and academic institutions. During the event, speakers highlighted Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s significant role in strengthening national integration during the post-independence period and emphasised the importance of inspiring youth to imbibe the values of unity, discipline, and commitment that he upheld.
The three-day programme witnessed participation of more than 3,000 individuals from different sections of society. A range of cultural presentations, including traditional performances such as Veeragase and Sri Krishna Leela Kannada drama, were also organised as part of the event. Educational outreach activities were undertaken during the programme, including the distribution of semester books among students.
The commemorative programme formed part of the Ministry of Culture’s two-year nationwide Sardar@150 initiative launched in 2024 to celebrate and disseminate the ideals and legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Through participation of educational institutions, cultural organisations, and grassroots communities, the initiative aims to strengthen awareness among youth regarding the values of national unity and nation-building associated with the life and vision of Sardar Patel.
