Ministry of Culture and Tayeng Abu Charitable Society Commemorate 125th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee in Arunachal Pradesh

A three-day commemorative programme marking the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee was organised from 21 to 23 February 2026 at Abotani Vidya Niketan School in Arunachal Pradesh by Tayeng Abu Charitable Society (TACS) in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

The programme witnessed participation from over 375 students, along with teachers, dignitaries, and members of the local community. Activities conducted over the three days included a National Flag March, drawing, song and dance competitions, and cultural performances. Traditional dance presentations by groups from Kra Daadi district formed a key highlight, reflecting the region’s cultural heritage.

The programme concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, during which participants were awarded mementos and school bags. Speakers on the occasion highlighted the importance of such initiatives in promoting patriotism, enhancing awareness of Dr. Mookerjee’s life and ideals among youth, and encouraging cultural engagement and educational outreach at the grassroots level.
