Ministry of Culture and Unique Welfare Society Organise Four-Day Programme on 150th Birth Anniversary of Birsa Munda

A four-day cultural and educational programme was organised in Basti, Uttar Pradesh, from 15-18 November as part of the ongoing commemoration of the 150th birth anniversary of Birsa Munda. The Unique Welfare Society conducted the events in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. The programme featured theatre presentations depicting Birsa Munda’s role in the Ulgulan Movement, along with poetry recitals, thematic discussions and a range of cultural activities designed to deepen public understanding of his life and contribution.

A special Kavi Sammelan brought together renowned and local poets who presented works dedicated to Birsa Munda, drawing strong participation from students and young attendees. Authors, artists, community representatives and youth groups actively engaged across the four days, adding to the vibrancy of the celebrations. The programme concluded with a closing ceremony and distribution of certificates.
