A three-day commemorative programme marking the 150th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was organised from 22 to 24 March 2026 in Dhamtari, Chhattisgarh, by Vidya Kiran Shikshan Samiti in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. The programme was held as part of the ongoing nationwide commemoration of Sardar Patel’s 150th birth anniversary and aimed to highlight his contributions to nation-building and governance.

The programme commenced with an inaugural session featuring ceremonial lamp lighting and keynote addresses on the life and legacy of Sardar Patel, followed by an essay writing competition for undergraduate students. The second day included expert-led sessions and panel discussions focusing on Sardar Patel’s vision for good governance, democracy, inclusive development, and his role in strengthening India’s national and international standing.

The concluding day featured discussions on the relevance of Sardar Patel’s governance model in contemporary India. The programme also included a cultural presentation based on his life and a Bhajan Sandhya, followed by a prize distribution ceremony for competition participants. The event witnessed participation from students, scholars, policymakers, and members of the local community, serving as a platform for intellectual and cultural engagement on Sardar Patel’s enduring legacy.
