A series of commemorative programmes marking the 125th birth anniversary of Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee were organised in February 2026 across multiple locations in Gujarat by Vision Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. The programmes were held on 5-6 February, 10 February, and 13 February at venues in Anand and Ahmedabad, with the objective of highlighting the life, contributions, and legacy of Dr Mookerjee.
The commemorative series included a cultural exhibition and film screening at N.S. Patel College Hall, Anand; a day-long seminar at Dr Ambedkar Hall, Amraiwadi, Ahmedabad; and a youth outreach programme at Shri P.M. Patel Paramedical Science & Technology Campus Hall, Anand. These activities brought together artists, academicians, and members of civil society, facilitating discussions on Dr Mookerjee’s contributions as a scholar, educationist, and national leader.
The programmes witnessed participation from a wide range of stakeholders, i including cultural artists, producers, directors, government officers, and social workers. Notable dignitaries in attendance also included trustees and representatives from the Vision Foundation and Soor Zankar Foundation. The initiative served as a platform for public engagement through cultural and educational activities, contributing to greater awareness of Dr Mookerjee’s legacy and reflecting the Ministry of Culture’s efforts to promote the contributions of national leaders through multi-dimensional outreach programmes.
