A two-day programme commemorating the 300th Birth Anniversary of Lokmata Ahilya Bai Holkar was held on 22-23 November at SICA Senior Secondary School, Indore. The event was organised by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, in collaboration with Chetna Atal Yuva Mandal as part of the national commemoration.

The first day featured scholarly lectures and talks on Ahilya Bai Holkar’s leadership, her role in social reform, temple reconstruction, and her wider approach to public welfare. An exhibition displaying rare paintings, documents, and artefacts associated with her life was inaugurated, accompanied by a documentary screening highlighting her administrative work and contributions to cultural heritage.

On the second day, the programme opened with an address on “Ahilya Bai Holkar - The Queen of Justice and Reform.” Sub-Inspector Shri Shivam Thakkar attended as Chief Guest. Essay and painting competitions were conducted for students on the theme “Ahilya Bai Holkar - A Visionary Leader.”

A cultural segment followed, with students presenting classical dance, folk music, and stage performances based on her life and values. A prize ceremony was organised to recognise top participants in essay, speech, painting, quiz, and dance competitions.

The two-day commemoration aimed to familiarise students and the local community with the legacy of Ahilya Bai Holkar and highlight her contributions to society, cultural advancement, and principles of good governance.
