A three-day programme commemorating the 200th Anniversary of Rani Chennamma's Victory at Kittur was organised by Chhattisgarh Sarvjan Vikash Samiti, Rajnandgaon, in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. The event was held from 14- 16 November at Gujrati National Higher Secondary School, Rajnandgaon.
The programme highlighted Rani Chennamma’s valour, her historic victory at Kittur, and her significance in India’s freedom struggle. The inaugural ceremony was addressed by Shri Nilu Sharma, Chairman, Tourism and Heritage Board, and featured cultural presentations along with an award distribution segment.
Over the course of three days, the event included seminars, cultural performances, and competitions focused on her leadership, her resistance to colonial rule, and the legacy of her iconic victory. The closing ceremony was held under the chairmanship of Shri Santosh Pandey, Member of Parliament, Rajnandgaon Lok Sabha, with several dignitaries present.
