A two-day national seminar titled “Constitution: My Pride” was organised on 25-26 November at the Sanatana Dharma College Auditorium, Muzaffarnagar, by the Golden Peacock Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, as part of the 75th Constitution Day (Samvidhan Diwas) celebrations.
The programme began with the lighting of the lamp by Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Vocational Education and Skill Development, Uttar Pradesh, Shri Kapil Dev Aggarwal, followed by a devotional Saraswati Vandana. Students presented a group yoga demonstration symbolising the Preamble’s core values justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity.
In his address, Shri Kapil Dev Aggarwal stated that India’s Constitution is among the world’s finest and urged youth to understand and adopt its guiding principles. He also felicitated winners of various competitions held during the celebrations. The organisers, including Foundation Chairperson Mr. Sameer Ahmad, highlighted the organisation’s social contributions and emphasised the importance of constitutional understanding, practical implementation, and awareness among the younger generation, extending gratitude to the Ministry of Culture for its support.
The seminar featured resource persons from DAV PG College Muzaffarnagar, the University of Delhi, and T.M. Bhagalpur University. Dr. Ompal spoke on the historical development and inclusive nature of the Constitution; Dr. Amit Kumar described it as a document of social justice; Dr. Kuldeep Singh emphasised the balance between rights and duties; Dr. Ravi Mehendra explained the federal structure; Dr. Ruhi Javed discussed economic and constitutional linkages, women’s empowerment, and equal opportunities; and Dr. Sanjay Kumar Jaiswal highlighted the role of youth, discipline, sports, and education.
In the concluding session, Shaziya from Golden Peacock Foundation explained the functioning of the judiciary, constitutional interpretation, and the rights available to every citizen, stressing that the Constitution not only grants rights but also ensures access to justice. The programme ended with acknowledging all dignitaries, participants, partner institutions, and volunteers, with the seminar recognised as a meaningful effort toward enhancing constitutional awareness and strengthening national values in society.
