Marking the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Indian Constitution, a spectacular dance ballet titled “Shankha Naad… गणतंत्र का अमृत महोत्सव” was presented at Kamani Auditorium, New Delhi, on November 12. Organised by Kathak Dharohar in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, the event celebrated India’s democratic journey and rich cultural heritage through a powerful artistic narrative.
Conceptualised and choreographed by Shri Sadanand Biswas, the performance featured 75 trained artists who portrayed India’s evolution- from ancient republics to a modern, vibrant democracy through classical dance forms including Kathak, Odissi, Bharatanatyam, Chhau, and other traditions. The ballet honoured the unsung heroes of the freedom struggle and highlighted the unity, diversity, and cultural richness of the nation.
As part of the initiative, Kathak Dharohar announced a nationwide programme for 2026, which will include 30 free workshops for children from disadvantaged communities aimed at promoting India’s intangible cultural heritage.
