The 7th Adi Rang Mahotsav was held from 21- 23 March 2025 at the National School of Drama Campus, Bhagwandas Road, New Delhi, organised by the National School of Drama (NSD). The festival was inaugurated on 21 March by Joint Secretary (Culture) Ms. Amita Prasad Sarbhai as Chief Guest, with Vice Chairman, NSD Society Prof. Bharat Gupt as Chair. NSD Director Shri Chittaranjan Tripathy delivered the Welcome Address, followed by the Vote of Thanks from Dean (Academics) Shri Santanu Bose.


The Mahotsav featured nearly 300 tribal artists from across the country. Over 15 traditional dance and music presentations were staged, alongside major theatrical productions including Bir Birsa (Jharkhand) and Bana Guda (Odisha). A daily Craft Mela displayed tribal crafts such as handloom textiles, bamboo and clay work, Madhubani paintings, brass and wire art, leather craft, and other indigenous artefacts. A special exhibition on Santhali heritage, curated by Shri Partha Gupta, showcased musical instruments and cultural items.
On 22 March, a seminar titled “Centring the Margin: Mainstreaming Indigenous Performance Traditions of India” was held at Antarmukh, NSD. Chaired by Prof. (Dr.) Ramesh Chandra Gaur, Dean (Administration) & Director, Kalanidhi, IGNCA, the session featured presentations by Associate Professor Shri Santanu Bose and Assistant Professor Shri Md. Abdul Kadir Shah.




The three-day Mahotsav concluded on 23 March, chaired by NSD Director Shri Chittaranjan Tripathy. Actor and NSD alumnus Shri Shrivardhan Trivedi attended as the Chief Guest. Registrar Shri Pradeep K. Mohanty delivered the Welcome Address, and Festival Controller Shri Suman Vaidya presented the Vote of Thanks.
