The North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Dimapur, under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, in coordination with the Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha Parbandhak Committee, commenced a three-day observance to mark the 350th Martyrdom Day of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji at Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Maligaon, Guwahati, Assam.
The first day of the solemn commemoration began with the Arambh of Sri Akhand Path Sahib at 10:00 AM, initiating the continuous recitation of the holy Guru Granth Sahib. The sacred recitation created an atmosphere imbued with deep spiritual devotion and reverence among all present.
A Kirtan Diwan was held during the day, wherein devotional hymns resonated through the premises. The programme concluded with Guru Ka Langar, which stands as a timeless symbol of equality, selfless service, and communal harmony - values that Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji embodied throughout his life.
Approximately 300 participants took part in the day's proceedings, with total footfalls reaching more than 500, reflecting the deep reverence the Sikh community and citizens of the region hold for the ninth Sikh Guru, who sacrificed his life to protect religious freedom and the right to one's conscience.
