The two-day commemorative programme marking the 350th Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji concluded on 26 July 2026 at the historic Gurudwara Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. The programme commenced on 25 July 2026 and was organised by the North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC), Patiala, under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, in collaboration with the Gurudwara Management Committee, Mandi.
Shri Priyanshu Khati (IAS), Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mandi, attended the programme as the Chief Guest. A large number of devotees, local residents, dignitaries and members of the Sikh community participated in the commemorative event and paid homage to Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, revered as 'Dharam Di Chadar' for his supreme sacrifice in defence of human rights and freedom of faith. The contribution of the Gurudwara Management Committee in the successful organisation of the programme was appreciated by all.
The second day's proceedings began with Gurbani Gayan by Bhai Mahipal Singh and Bhai Paramjit Singh, Ragi Jatha of Gurudwara Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Mandi. This was followed by Katha Vachan by Bhai Jaskaran Singh, Hazuri Pathi of the Gurudwara, and Bhai Baljeet Singh (Amritsar Wale), who highlighted the life, teachings, courage and supreme martyrdom of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.
The programme concluded with a devotional Gurbani Gayan by Bhai Gurmail Singh Ji and Group, Hazuri Ragi, Sri Akal Takhat Sahib, Amritsar, whose rendition created an atmosphere of devotion and reverence among the congregation.
The Ministry of Culture is organising commemorative programmes across the country throughout the year to mark the 350th Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. The initiatives aim to familiarise younger generations with the Guru Sahib's teachings and to promote his enduring message of peace, harmony, religious freedom and communal harmony.
