South Zone Cultural Centre Organises Gurmat Kirtan Samagam in Kochi, Kerala to Observe 350th Martyrdom Year of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji

As part of the nationwide observance of the 350th Martyrdom Year of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the South Zone Cultural Centre (SZCC), Thanjavur, under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, organised a special Gurmat Kirtan Samagam in association with Gurudwara Singh Sabha, Thevara, Kochi, Kerala, on 19 July 2026. Held at the Prayer Hall of the Gurudwara, the programme witnessed participation of nearly 400 devotees and members of the public.

The spiritual highlight of the Samagam was the participation of a Ragi Jatha comprising Shri Veer Singh Lunavath, Shri Mahesh Singh and Shri Guguloth Jai Singh, who presented Gurbani Kirtan and Shabads depicting the life, teachings and supreme martyrdom of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. The devotional renditions highlighted the Guru’s enduring message of peace, equality, communal harmony and Sarbat Da Bhala.

The Gurmat Kirtan Samagam served as an occasion to pay homage to the supreme martyrdom of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and to disseminate his enduring message of courage, harmony, compassion and service to humanity. The programme concluded with prayers and devotional participation by the congregation.
