SZCC Organises Gurmat Kirtan Samagam in Karnataka under the Observance of 350th Martyrdom Year of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji

As part of the nationwide commemoration observing the 350th Martyrdom Year of Guru Sri Tegh Bahadur Ji, the South Zone Cultural Centre (SZCC), Thanjavur, under the Ministry of Culture, organised a Special Gurmat Kirtan Samagam at the historic Gurudwara Nanak Jhira Sahib in Bidar, Karnataka, on 26 July 2026. The programme witnessed the participation of thousands of devotees and pilgrims.

The programme was graced by the Hon’ble Governor of Karnataka, Shri Thawar Chand Gehlot, who remained present throughout the Kirtan. On the occasion, the Hon’ble Governor felicitated the visiting Ragi Jatha and appreciated the devotional atmosphere created through the rendition of Gurbani Kirtan.

The spiritual proceedings featured the participation of the Hazuri Ragi Jatha from Sri Harmandir Sahib, Amritsar. Bhai Surjit Singh Ji, accompanied by Bhai Sukhdev Singh Ji and Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Ji, rendered Gurbani Kirtan, creating an atmosphere of devotion and spiritual reflection at the historic shrine. 

The Special Gurmat Kirtan Samagam paid homage to the supreme martyrdom of Guru Sri Tegh Bahadur Ji and highlighted his enduring message of courage, religious freedom, compassion, and service to humanity. The programme also fostered spiritual enrichment, cultural harmony, and community participation as part of the nationwide 350th Martyrdom year observance.
