South Central Zone Cultural Centre (SCZCC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture under the ‘Hamara Samvidhan Hamara Swabhiman’ commemoration, organised a two-day programme titled Samvidhan Ka Amrit Mahotsav on 14-15 April 2025 at the SCZCC premises, Civil Lines, Nagpur, to mark Ambedkar Jayanti. The event was inaugurated by Joint Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Shri Samar Nanda, and presided over by SCZCC Regional Director, Smt. Astha Karlekar.
The inauguration featured the opening of a curated exhibition, Dr Ambedkar and the Constitution, divided into three sections: Dr Ambedkar’s life and legacy, the contribution of women to the making of the Constitution, and chairpersons of constitutional committees. Dr Pradip Aglave delivered a special lecture, followed by Powada Gayan, a folk presentation by the Sahir Ishwar Group.

In his address, Shri Samar Nanda underlined that the Indian Constitution reflects the country’s cultural ethos and stressed the importance of young citizens understanding its history.
The second day featured a theatrical production based on Ambedkar’s writings and philosophy, directed by Chairman, CCRT, Dr Vinod Indurkar. 
Samvidhan Ka Amrit Mahotsav forms part of the year-long commemoration of 75 years of the adoption of the Indian Constitution.
