In continuation of its efforts to strengthen cultural and spiritual ties across borders, the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, is preparing to undertake the exposition of the Holy Devnimori Relics of Lord Buddha in Sri Lanka. These sacred relics, discovered from Devnimori, Gujarat, and currently under the custodianship of Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda (Vadodara), will be enshrined at Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka, from 10th to 16th May, 2025, in conjunction with the celebrations of the United Nations Day of Vesak.
This sacred initiative is expected to attract a large number of devotees, Buddhist monks, and international pilgrims, all of whom will have the rare opportunity to pay homage to these revered relics. The event is also anticipated to receive extensive international media coverage, underlining India’s commitment to fostering Buddhist diplomacy, spiritual outreach, and shared cultural heritage.
