The Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) inaugurated Bharat Muni Deergha, a newly developed exhibition space on its ground floor, with the launch of the exhibition Faces of Traditions and Divinity & Majesty: Masterpieces from the Lance Dane Collection. Inaugurated by Dr. Sachchidanand Joshi, Member Secretary, IGNCA, the exhibition displays a rich array of masks from the institution’s archives, celebrating India’s vibrant artistic heritage.
Dr. Joshi highlighted the vision to utilise every space at IGNCA as a canvas for cultural expression and knowledge dissemination. The event also introduced new initiatives like ‘Mask of the Week’ and ‘Object of the Week’, aimed at fostering continuous engagement and curiosity among visitors. These efforts, led by the Conservation and Cultural Archives Division, reflect IGNCA’s evolving role as a dynamic centre for preserving and promoting India’s diverse cultural traditions.
