Exhibition on ‘Development of Education in North Eastern India’ to be Held in Kohima.

The National Archives of India, in collaboration with the Higher Education Department of Nagaland, will organise an exhibition on ‘Development of Education in North Eastern India’ on 8th August 2025 at the Capital Convention Centre, Kohima. Shri La will inaugurate the exhibition. Ganesan, Governor of Nagaland, in the presence of Shri Temjen Imna Along, Minister of Higher Education & Tourism, Nagaland, and Shri Samar Nanda, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Culture and Director General of Archives.

This exhibition showcases the region’s educational evolution from indigenous tribal learning systems to modern institutions. It highlights key milestones, including missionary influences, colonial contributions, and post-independence growth. The thematic display will feature rare archival documents, photographs, manuscripts, and official records from the National Archives and Nagaland State Archives. The initiative aims to deepen public understanding of Northeast India’s rich educational heritage and its role in national development.
