The National Archives of India, in collaboration with the Department of Higher Education, Government of Nagaland, inaugurated a landmark archival exhibition titled “Development of Education in North Eastern India” on 8th August 2025 at the Capital Convention Centre, Kohima. The exhibition was inaugurated by Shri Temjen Imna Along, Hon’ble Minister of Higher Education and Tourism, Nagaland, who also launched a Digital Exhibition and unveiled the Exhibition Brochure. Showcasing rare archival documents, photographs, correspondence, and policy papers, the exhibition presents a comprehensive journey of educational growth in the North East, with special focus on Nagaland.
The inaugural event witnessed the presence of eminent dignitaries, including Dr. Tseilhoutuo (Ato) Rhutso, MLA, Shri Samar Nanda, Director General, National Archives of India, and senior officials from the education and culture sectors. Open to the public from 8th to 14th August 2025, the exhibition provides valuable insights into the evolution of education in the region while celebrating the legacy and vision that shaped its modern educational landscape.
