IGNCA Launches ‘Hindi Maah-2025’ with Grand Inauguration

The Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), Rajbhasha Anubhag, inaugurated Hindi Maah-2025 on 2 September with a cultural and literary programme that will continue throughout the month. The event began with a lamp lighting ceremony and a Gaudiya dance performance on Ganesh Stuti. Prof. Sudha Singh, Head of Hindi Department, University of Delhi, graced the occasion as Chief Guest, while Dr. Sachchidanand Joshi, Member Secretary, IGNCA, presided over the session. Dr. Priyanka Mishra, Director (Administration), IGNCA, also addressed the gathering.

In his presidential address, Dr. Joshi stressed the importance of strengthening India’s linguistic diversity by encouraging every citizen to learn an additional Indian language, while Prof. Singh urged participants to develop a genuine passion for Hindi beyond utilitarian purposes. She emphasised the need for Hindi’s presence in professional and knowledge-driven domains. The month-long celebration will feature competitions, cultural events, and literary activities, culminating with a closing ceremony on 30 September.
