The Ministry of Culture is actively promoting inclusivity in the arts through the Kala Sanskriti Vikas Yojana (KSVY)—a Central Sector umbrella scheme that provides financial assistance to individuals and organisations, including those from the Scheduled Castes, engaged in performing arts. Over the past four years, more than ₹817 crore has been allocated and fully utilised under various components of KSVY. These include grants for training, cultural infrastructure, heritage preservation, veteran artists, scholarships, and fellowships.
Under KSVY, several targeted sub-schemes such as Repertory Grants, Cultural Function & Production Grants, and Seva Bhoj Yojana ensure holistic support for artists. The Ministry monitors fund utilisation through strict financial protocols and physical inspections. Special emphasis is given to preserving cultural heritage and nurturing talent across India—including SC communities—by supporting institutions and individuals working in music, dance, theatre, and visual arts. This initiative strengthens cultural equity and artistic development nationwide.
