Prime Minister Addresses Gyan Bharatam International Conference at Vigyan Bhawan

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addresses the Gyan Bharatam International Conference at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, marking a landmark step in preserving and digitising India’s manuscript heritage. The Prime Minister highlights that manuscripts are not just texts but living testimonies of India’s civilisational journey, representing philosophy, science, medicine, art, and literature. With nearly one crore manuscripts, India holds the world’s largest collection, reflecting the devotion of generations towards knowledge and learning.

He underlines that the Gyan Bharatam Mission rests on four pillars: preservation, innovation, addition, and adaptation, and aims to build a National Digital Repository, supported by AI-driven tools, research, and global collaborations. The initiative also safeguards against intellectual piracy and creates opportunities for youth in research and innovation. The Prime Minister calls upon young scholars to actively participate in this national mission, ensuring that India’s knowledge legacy becomes a beacon for humanity’s future.
