Aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the Government of India is actively promoting Indian classical dances among school students through art-integrated learning. The Ministry of Culture, through institutions like the Sangeet Natak Akademi and the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT), has launched initiatives such as the Kala Dharohar series and workshops to foster cultural appreciation and creativity. These efforts aim to strengthen the cultural roots of students while ensuring holistic development.
Under the Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme (CTSSS), CCRT has been awarding scholarships to students aged 10–14 years for specialised training in Indian classical dance and other art forms. In 2024–25 alone, 269 scholarships were granted. Additionally, outreach programs like Indradhanush Summer Camps and the Extension Services Community Feedback Program have trained over 45,000 participants in 2024–25, with a budget allocation of ₹51.73 lakh, demonstrating the Government’s commitment to cultural education.
